September 2013 – Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held on September 3rd at Gerard’s Restaurant in Adam’s Village, Dorchester, MA.

Present – Derek Mawn, Cathy Mawn, Mary McDermott, Maura Weir, Jim Keaney, Jim Gallagher, Connie and Mary McEleney, and Bridie McDermott

Christmas party will be Sunday December 8th from 4-8pm at Concannon’s Irish Village in Norwood.  Music by Kathy and the Irish Americans.

Annual Cape Cod weekend will take place November 1st thru 3rd at the Cape Cod Irish Village.  Alfie O’Shea will be performing that weekend.  Please make booking arrangements directly with the Cape Cod Irish Village, 1-508-771-0100.  Additional details to follow with October minutes.

2014 dues will remain the same:  $10 for individual and $20 for a household.

The Irish Heritage Festival will take place on October 13th in the parking lots between Florian Hall and McKeon Post on Hallet Street in Dorchester.  Live music, dancing, and great craic from 11-8pm.

As we enter the Fall season, we are excited to be starting our monthly meetings again and have many upcoming events planned. I would like to announce our members’ Christmas Party, which is scheduled for Sunday, the 8th of December from 4-8pm at Concannon’s Village in Norwood, MA. We also have a society weekend planned at the Cape Cod Irish Village in Hyannis from Nov 1st-3rd. Please visit our events page for more information on these and other events.

Photos – 2003 Golf Tournament

We held our 2nd Annual golf tournament on Sunday August 3rd, 2003, at the Newton Commonwealth Golf Course, Newton, Masssachusetts. 13 teams teams took part on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The proceeds from the event were donated to local charities.
